A tailgate that opens and closes automatically
The hands-free tailgate is invaluable if you have your hands full. As long as you have your KeyFree key-fob with you (in your bag or pocket) simply wave your foot under the rear bumper of the car and the tailgate will automatically open or close for you.
The latest hands-free technology
Ford SYNC 2 with Voice Control and Touchscreen takes the existing infotainment system a step further with the addition of an 8” coloured touchscreen. This high-resolution display gives intuitive control of several key functions including phone, audio, climate control and optional navigation via voice or touch.
Parking made even easier
Active Park Assist technology can help you park hands-free into parallel spaces and make it easier to park into perpendicular spaces (like multi-storey carparks). The technology can detect a space then control the steering as you reverse into it. Side Parking Aid warns you of any obstructions and Park Out Assist is designed to help steer you out of the tightest of spaces.
Cruise control that can adapt automatically
With Adaptive Cruise Control technology, you choose the speed you want to drive at and the system will maintain it. If the built-in RADAR sensor detects a vehicle ahead, it will slow the car to maintain a pre-set distance. Once the road in front is clear, the system will accelerate to your chosen speed.
Comfortable, flexible, fold-flat seats
The C-MAX can accommodate a family of five in refined comfort, with the three individual rear seats able to fold flat to maximise space. The seven seat Grand C-MAX also enables you to quickly fold away the middle second-row seat beneath the right-hand seat. This ingenious 2+2+2 layout means you can create a ‘walk-through’ corridor for easy access.
Easy access, all round
With unique, twin sliding rear doors it’s easy for your passengers to get in and out. This intelligent design also prevents the doors banging against other cars, or walls, in tight parking spaces.
The new C-MAX is powered by a line-up of advanced, highly efficient engines. Petrol, diesel? You choose. And with a range of different capacities and power outputs, you’re sure to find the engine that suits your needs exactly.
Get the most out of your engine
The revolutionary 1.0 litre 3-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine delivers 100PS and 125PS with CO2 emissions of just 117g/km for the C-MAX and 119g/km for the Grand C-MAX. That’s the power you’d expect from a conventional 1.6 litre engine, only with better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. Named International Engine of the Year for three years in succession.
An all-new diesel option
The 1.5L TDCi is an entirely new engine based on the 1.6L TDCi. It offers increased power at 120 PS, up from 115 PS. It maximises fuel economy and minimises emissions too. This engine is currently available with a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 6-speed PowerShift automatic gearbox to follow.
Low emission diesel power
The 2.0 TDCi engine is also new and increases power from 140 PS on the prior model to 150 PS on the New C-MAX & Grand C-MAX. This engine is available with both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed PowerShift automatic gearbox
Count on a comprehensive package of safety measures, all designed to offer maximum protection for you and your passengers.
Advanced awards for innovation in safety
The new C-MAX and Grand C-MAX are equipped with technologies that have previously received Euro NCAP Advanced Awards, the highest given by Europe's leading independent safety organisation. The awards recognise only the most advanced avoidance, crash and post-crash technologies available in a car and include Active City Stop, Lane Keeping Aid Driver Alert.
*Originally awarded to the new Ford Focus.
Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance: can call for help even if you can’t
In important and potentially life-saving part of Ford SYNC is Emergency Assistance. In the unlikely event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, the technology can automatically make a direct call to the Emergency Services for you. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. Crucially, the system will supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unconscious.*
*Ford Emergency Assistance operates in over 30 European countries. This feature works when paired with a compatible connected mobile phone that is with you when an airbag is deployed (excludes knee airbags) or a sensor that registers a crash deactivates the fuel pump. Text function and Emergency Assistance not supported by all European languages.
Confidence in challenging conditions
The car is equipped with an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), which incorporates a range of technologies designed to keep you in control. Sensors detect any sudden changes in steering, braking, or vehicle behaviour that may cause you to lose control, and then ESP precisely adjusts the speed of each individual wheel, making your car more stable and helping to prevent skidding. ESP features include Hill Start Assist, Emergency Brake Assist and Electronic Brake Prefill.
Pre-Collision Assist operates throughout the whole speed range detecting moving objects. If it detects that a collision is probable and there is no reaction from the driver, it sends a visual and acoustic warning message to the cluster and then applies medium braking forces.*
*Available as part of the optional Adaptive Cruise Control.
